Passion
As you might have read on the homepage, I am currently in my graduation year of Applied computer science, majoring in IT-consultancy.
Even though I like programming and developing, what really caught my attention in my educational journey was the social and managing parts of IT. I love communicating with people and discussing about eventual solutions.
Business philosophy
Creating a strong connection with my clients is key in my business philosophy and this is something I stand by. I think that constructing a solution for my clients while communicating closely is a big factor in achieving a satisfactory solution for both sides. If I didn’t have such an interest in IT, I would have probably become a marketeer! Hahaha
I am currently doing an internship in Japan for a company called Advantech. More about why I chose to go to Japan in the next part.
Educational background
After finishing highschool i already had an interest in the fields of IT, but a much stronger interest at that time was JAPAN.
Origin
I started my academical pursuit at UGent in 2018, studying the language and culture of Japan. During this time, I learned a lot about japanese culture and general academic skills. However, the area I felt most confident was the language itself.
I did the japanese studies for 3 years as I slowly figured out that the academical approach was not cut out for me—I needed hands-on experience. This is a reason why the language part was going so well; it was something i could actively practice and apply.
Having learned the language for 3 years had me satisfied and I decided to pursue a more practical carreer.

Japanese studies
Fast forward to today—I’m now pursuing a degree in Applied Computer Science and currently doing an internship in Japan!
Now
The internship revolves around AI and Robotics, two fields in which I initially had limited experience.
I am very very grateful to have received the opportunity to combine my two passions. Despite the challenges of the internship, this experience is helping me expanding my knowledge of IT significantly.
